Biohacking gets attention. The newest wearable, supplement, peptide, cold-plunge protocol, or longevity trend can make health feel cutting-edge and complicated.

But the largest opportunity for many adults may be much less glamorous.

National data show that most Americans fall short on several basic behaviors linked to better gut health, blood-sugar regulation, cardiovascular fitness, body composition, recovery, and healthy aging.

Approximately 94% of U.S. children and adults fail to reach adequate fiber intake. About 90% of adults miss the vegetable target, nearly 88% miss the fruit target, and 77.5% do not meet both the aerobic and muscle-strengthening guidelines. In 2024, 30.5% of adults reported sleeping less than seven hours.
